Barriers to eating locally grown veg

Rattry Community Garden was delighted to receive £4,680 funding from The Williamson Trust and the Royal Society of Edinburgh as part of their Healthy Planet, Healthy People: Catalyst award.

The funding will be used to conduct a survey to identify and overcome the barriers to choosing to eat locally grown vegetables in Blairgowrie & Rattray. The project will run from May 2026 to May 2027 and will include the following steps:

  • Formalise and agree objectives
  • Develop and share a survey
  • Engage the community over the summer to discuss and complete the survey
  • Publish and discuss the survey in the Hub Magazine
  • Capture the survey comments and analyse
  • Publish results
  • Plan the next step which is planting the vegetables people would like
