It’s here—and it’s transforming our Shed! Thanks to a generous grant from Local Energy Scotland, delivered through the Scottish Government’s Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES), we’ve taken a major step toward a greener future. With the installation of solar panels, a heat pump, and a battery storage unit, we’re not only reducing our environmental impact but also cutting our running costs significantly. It’s a win for sustainability and for our community.

The recent Spring Fair at Blairgowrie Town Hall was another highlight. A huge thank you to everyone who came along to meet us and sign up for membership. Special appreciation goes to Alice Bowman for organising such a fantastic event—and for her delicious baking! The raffle proceeds were kindly donated to the Shed, adding to the day’s success. We’re also incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed to our Charity Shop week in Coupar Angus; another resounding success.

Looking ahead, we’re focusing on exciting plans for improvements: expanding our mezzanine floor, installing a lift for accessibility, adding water and a tea point upstairs and upgrading our toilet facilities.

Full membership is just £40 per year for anyone over 18, (free if you’re only looking for things fixed or restored). The Shed is a welcoming place to meet new people, share skills, and combat social isolation. We warmly encourage women to join, with flexible options for mixed or separate sessions.
